Tokyo Trip (December 2024)

December 1

Escaping reality for a week! We landed at Haneda Airport in the evening, around 4 pm, and hopped on a bus to Ikebukuro, a vibrant district in northwest Tokyo. This district is famous for its electrifying atmosphere, iconic department stores like Seibu and Tobu, and the stunning Sunshine City. We'll be calling Ikebukuro home for the next couple of days. After arriving in Sunshine City, we dove into the local nightlife, discovering an amazing izakaya for dinner and savoring a cold beer (or two!) #JapanAdventures #Ikebukuro #TokyoNights

December 2

Tsukiji Market, here we come! We braved the crazy-packed subway (think sardines in a can!) and arrived at the famous market. The views did NOT disappoint! We indulged in a foodie paradise: Tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet), decadent fatty tuna, crispy sweet potato chips, refreshing green tea ice cream, and my personal fave, Takoyaki! After exploring the nearby stores, we hopped on the subway to Kinshicho, a vibrant shopping hub east of Tokyo. The skyline views were stunning, and we even spotted the iconic Tokyo Skytree! We shopped 'til we dropped, devoured a shrimp burger at McD's, and ended our day with a steaming bowl of chicken and char siu pork ramen at MENYA NAKAGAWA. Bring on tomorrow's adventures! #TsukijiMarket #TokyoEats #TravelDiaries

December 3

The most exciting part of our trip was visiting Mount Fuji. We took a tour bus to the site. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, lavender ice cream, and Fuji apples.

Here's a magic trick with Mount Fuji as the backdrop! 🪄✨

3rd day

December 4 to December 6

Exploring Sunshine City Mall in East of Ikebukuro was an absolute blast! From hunting for souvenirs and stylish clothing to indulging in mouthwatering eats, every corner offered something new and exciting. The highlight? Scoring an epic LEGO Charizard set from the Pokémon Store!🔥 We enjoyed a buffet lunch at Aeon Mall, then savored delicious udon tempura for dinner to end the day.

For the final leg of our adventure, we moved to the cozy International Garden Hotel Narita, setting the stage for more exploration in another part of Japan. The next day, we wrapped up our unforgettable journey with a visit to the Chiba area. Lunch featured Italian flavors at Oliveto, followed by a perfect deep-fried pork cutlet at Tonkatsu Wako inside Aeon Mall.

Before heading home, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet at the hotel, then boarded our flight back to Toronto. ✈️

✨ Memories made, hearts full.
