Recently, I purchased a bonsai tree planting kit from Japan and I was thinking if there is a way to monitor the moisture of the soil and automatically water the plant when the soil is dry.

For my project, I explain how to connect the electronic components to a functioning circuit and control them with basic Python programming.

Here is the basic idea of what the system does:

1. A sensor checks the plants’ moisture every 4 hours.

2. If the soil is too dry, a pump waters the plant for 1 second. 

3. If the soil is wet, nothing happens.
